- Description
- NOTE: This is not a request for proposals. This is strictly a synopsis to inform industry about an upcoming requirement and seek potentially interested, available and/or qualified vendors. The Government will not respond to any inquiries received prior to the issuance of the solicitation and no offers will be accepted based on this presolicitation notice. All potential offerors will have an opportunity to submit questions once the solicitation for this requirement has been issued. However, in the interim, please feel free to add your company's information to the Interested Vendors List. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific is issuing this synopsis for prospective contractors to compete for an upcoming 5-year Firm-Fixed-Price Requirements contract to perform School Bus Safety Aide and School Bus Safety Attendant Services for students, pre-kindergarten through grade 12, attending DoDEA Pacific mainland Japan district schools. The geographical scope of the Japan district includes Atsugi, Iwakuni, Misawa, Sasebo, Yokosuka, Yokota and Zama transportation areas. The DoDEA Pacific Japan District operates approximately 113 school buses servicing 21 schools during 183 school year days beginning in August and 20 days of extended school year days occurring primarily between the months of June and July of each calendar year. Offerors should be aware that there are security considerations in this acquisition in the form of required contractor personnel background checks as well as safety training and certification requirements. The period of performance shall be a base period of one (1) year plus four one-year option years thereafter, with a tentative contract start date of August 1, 2015. Solicitation issuance is tentatively scheduled to occur on or before May 8, 2015. Interested and potential offerors should register in the System for Award Management (SAM). Information on SAM registration can be obtained at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. Lack of registration in the SAM database will make a contractor ineligible for award. Please contact SAM customer service at (866) 606-8220 regarding questions and/or problems regarding SAM registration.
