- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland in support of the US Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) is issuing this notice of intent to procure services via Sole Source through the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order to Mayo Clinic. Under the contemplated service, Mayo Clinic, 200 1st St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905-0002, will perform non-decalcified sample histology preparation and analysis. This is a follow-on award to purchase order W81XWH-13-P-0130 which was performed by the Mayo Clinic Bone Histology Service. Comparison of samples can only be reliably performed if the samples have been processed and analyzed in an identical fashion. The only way to ensure this identical processing is by having Mayo Clinic Bone Histology Service process the current samples in the same manner in which the samples for W81XWH-13-P-0130 were processed. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541712 with a size standard of 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible, interested parties may identify their interest by submitting capability information by Thursday, 23 April 2015 at 4:00 PM Central Daylight Time in order to establish the ability of the responder to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the sole purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with preparing responses to this notification. All inquiries must be submitted via email to terry.g.bice.civ@mail.mil.
