Description
This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because a statute exists that expressly authorizes or requires that the acquisition be made from a specific source or through another agency (FAR 6.302-5); specifically, Sole source awards under the 8(a) Program. Per FAR 6.302-5 a J&A is not required for this award. Contractor shall supply all plant, labor, materials, appurtenances, equipment, shop facilities, supervision, tools, and any other items necessary to install a water filtration system at the Lordsburg Border Patrol Station, Lordsburg, NM to the Vehicle Maintenance Building (Base Bid) and the Administration Building (Option 1). The purpose of the water filtration system is to reduce the amount of particulates on the mechanical and plumbing systems throughout the facility. The contractor shall design and install a water softener system for the Lordsburg Border Patrol Station Vehicle Maintenance Shop as a Base Bid requirement and a Campus wide system to include the Lordsburg Border Patrol Station as Option 1. The project is located on the west side of Lordsburg, NM at 26 Pipeline Road, Lordsburg, NM 88045. The water treatment system is expected to help with the aesthetic quality of the domestic water supply. The water treatment system shall be capable of processing no less than 37,000 gallons per month. Sizing of the system shall be based on results of water quality testing to reduce secondary contaminants and provided in Appendix A. The water filtration system shall be housed in a separate building/shelter and in close proximity to the mechanical room/rooms of the facility. Necessary connection to the existing facility shall be accomplished by the contractor. All work shall be done in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
