- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This RFI is for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid, Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotes (RFQ). The Government will not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with the submission of information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to the interested parties for responses. DLA Energy-Aerospace in conducting this RFI to identify potential impacts to Aviator's Breathing Oxygen and Liquid Nitrogen acquisitions if some United States Air Force locations replaced their various larger sized cryogenics bulk storage tanks ranging from 2000 - 6000 gallons currently being used to multiple smaller 500 gallon tanks. In order to determine the potential impacts and future acquisition strategies, DLA Energy is seeking industry responses to the following questions: •1. Is there a minimum delivery quantity that suppliers would be willing to deliver? If so, what is it? •2. Locations may replace current larger bulk cryo tanks to multiple 500 gallon tanks, do suppliers have any reservations or concerns conducting split shipments to multiple 500 gallon tanks at a location? • Will a conversion from larger bulk cryo tanks to multiple 500 gallon tanks impact supplier interest in proposing to support a location? •4. Are there any product resupply cost implications the USAF should be considering associated with using multiple 500 gallon vice larger bulk tanks? If so, what are they? •5. Current cryo contracts normally give 7 days' lead time notification when placing orders for larger bulk tanks. After converting to 500 gallon tanks, some locations may only be able to provide 4 days notification prior to requiring deliveries. Do suppliers see a problem with that? What impact would this have on suppliers? Would it substantially impact product cost? RESPONSE DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION: Interested parties may begin submitting responses to this RFI immediately. However, all responses will be due no later than 4:00 CDST, 28 April 2015. Responses shall be submitted via email to Damon.Moore@DLA.MIL
