- Recovery: Notice of Proposed Contract Action Using Recovery Funds This is a pre-solicitation notice issued in accordance with FAR 4.804(g). Direct any questions via email. No phone calls please. Proposed solicitation release date is on or around April 30, 2015 with a due date on or around May 8, 2015. Propose action is for Red Hat Professional Services. Upon award, Contractor shall: 1.1 Provide engineering expertise for the implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure and post implementation optimizations including: • Analyzing performance issues and recommending optimizations for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) core builds. • Review and recommend improvements of implementation and configuration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) core builds in production environments. • Systems Management processes for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) using Red Hat Satellite. • Provide SSA with methods and procedures for support of production infrastructure and optimizations. • Engaging in general knowledge transfer on the Red Hat Satellite, Systems Management process and automation of core build. 1.2 Provide engineering technical expertise for high availability and failover of application infrastructure including: • Provide SSA with methods and standards for the design of a highly available infrastructure with failover using Red Hat Cluster Suite. • Prototyping and testing high availability and failover using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Cluster Suite. • Providing engineering technical expertise for Red Hat Cluster Suite. • Engage in general knowledge transfer on Red Hat Cluster Suite. 1.3 Provide SSA engineering technical expertise and troubleshooting support for workload migration to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform. This includes working with the technical team on: • Analyzing migration issues and recommending mitigations for workloads on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). • Providing guidance for the migration efforts to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). • Mentoring SSA personnel in the migration and administration process. 1.4 Provide SSA technical expertise and knowledge transfer in performing system diagnostic and troubleshooting. 1.5 Work with SSA technical staff to troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux related issues. Service codes are RH-GPS - Platform Professional Services and PM - Program Manager. Qualification Required: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 or higher and access to Red Hat's proprietary consulting Framework and informational Knowledgebase. Period of Performance will begin in fiscal year 2015 and will be for one base year and two one-year option periods.
