- Description
- PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day to provide information on the anticipated release of the Positioning System for Deep Ocean Navigation (POSYDON) Broad Agency Announcement, DARPA-BAA-15-30. The Proposers' Day will be held on May 1, 2015 at the DARPA Conference Center (675 N. Randolph St. Arlington, VA 22203) from 9:00 am ET to 11:00 am ET. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the POSYDON program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the POSYDON program is to develop an undersea system that provides omnipresent, robust positioning. DARPA envisions that the POSYDON program will distribute a small number of acoustic sources, analogous to GPS satellites, around an ocean basin. By measuring the absolute range to multiple source signals, an undersea platform can obtain continuous, accurate positioning without surfacing for a GPS fix. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT April 23, 2015 at the following website: https://safe.sysplan.com/confsys/posydon. Directions to the facility and other materials are also available on the website. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 100 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. The Proposers' Day will be classified SECRET and is open only to U.S. citizens possessing a US DoD SECRET clearance or higher. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. Attendees are required to pass security clearances via JPAS to SMO Code DDAAUS4 no later than April 27, 2015. After the conference, there will be an opportunity to meet individually with Mr. Lin Haas. Please contact DARPA-BAA-15-30@darpa.mil to schedule an individual session.
