- Description
- This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified vendors to produce and provide: 1 each, Vilnius Aerosol Generator. Includes MicroDust Pro aerosol monitor and 5 micron sharp cut standard cyclone MFR PART# ARGVAG1. Specifications required for this procurement include: The Vilnius Aerosol Generator (VGA) must be a general-purpose dry powder disperser. The VGA must produce aerosol concentrations from 1 to 2500 mg/m3. The system must consist of controller and disperser units. The Disperser must contain a dynamic aerosolization and a de-agglomeration assembly. The aerosolization assembly must contain a dust chamber for placement of powder and be aerosolized. Airflow, directed into the chamber through a control valve and jets impinges upon the powder dispersing it into the air. Simultaneously the air jets activate a turbine which is used for continuous supply of powder under the air jets. The aerosolization assembly must be interconnected with the de-agglomeration assembly by a capillary. A portable aerosol monitor (Casella MicroDust Pro) must available and to be used for continuous monitoring of the aerosol output. The electrical signal from the Casella sensor is used as Controller feed-back signal. If the aerosol output decreases, the Controller causes the turbine to vibrate more actively and increases the air flow rate through the jets. The VAG must be operated continuously for 0.5 to 6.0 hours depending on the desired aerosol concentration. The requiring activity for this procurement is the Chemcial Test Division, West Desert Training Center, Dugway, UT. A determination on the contract type, mechanism for procuring the services, and possible set-aside will not be made by the Government until after the market research has been completed. No proposals are being requested or accepted under this synopsis. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard is 500. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond.
