- Description
- This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because there is only one responsible source due to a unique capability provided, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (FAR 6.302-1). See posted J&A for further information. A firm fixed price contract was awarded for the Contractor to perform all work necessary to transport two vertical axial flow turbine pumps (Pump #1 and #2), located at Big Creek Pump Station Facility, to the Contractor's facility for refurbishment in addition to the one vertical axial flow turbine pumps (Pump #3) currently located at the Contractor's facility. Refurbish and deliver one electric motor and three vertical axial flow turbine pumps (American Marsh, Series AMP480, Model 24AJ-2 Stage, Pumps #1, #2, and #3). The pumps and motor were previously disassembled and inspected under Contract W912EK-15-P-0025. The refurbished Pumps #1, #2 and #3 as well as the vertical induction type hollow shaft electric motor (US Electric Motors, Model 5012P, Type RU, 350HP, Electric Motor #3) shall be prepared for shipment and returned to the Big Creek Pump Station Facility at Saylorville Lake. All unused existing pump parts shall be disposed of as scrap. a. The Contractor shall pick up Pumps #1 & #2 at Big Creek Pump Station Facility, to transport to the Contractor's facility for refurbishment, concurrently with delivering the fully refurbished Pump #3. b. The Contractor personnel shall ensure the pumps are loaded and secured properly. This shall include proper support of the equipment on the truck as to not damage the equipment during transport. The equipment shall additionally be covered during transport to protect from elemental exposure during transport. c. The Contractor shall provide an onsite supervisor during the installation of Pumps #1, #2 and #3 at Big Creek Pump Station Facility at Saylorville Lake. The described work for Pump #1, Pump #2, Pump #3, and Electric Motor #3 shall be completed within 190 calendar days from date of contract award.
