- INDUSTRY DAY Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to The Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) Intelligence, Plans and Resources Joint Directorate (J2/5/8R) and the Standing Joint Forces Headquarters for Elimination (SJFHQ-E) On Monday, May 18, 2015, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) contracting activity and its' Intelligence, Plans and Resources Joint Directorate (J2/5/8R) will host an Industry Day to discuss, and to examine the potential community of sources for, the provision of mission-related Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS). The Industry Day will take place at DTRA Headquarters located at 8725 John J. Kingman Road, MSC 6201, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in the Brittigan Conference Room (conference rooms F&G) at 0800. This notice and event is not to be considered a solicitation for proposals. The sole intent of this notice and event is to assist the Government in conducting market research to evaluate the state of available sources and to communicate POTENTIAL opportunities, needs and requirements to the community of capable firms within the industry. Requests for solicitation will receive no response from DTRA. Nothing in this notice or event shall constitute, now or in the future, a binding legal, financial or contractual commitment on behalf of the United States. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any costs associated with this notice or event. BACKGROUND: The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) safeguards the United States and allies from the threat posed by Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). This threat spectrum encompasses chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, high explosive modalities and their associated delivery systems. This organization is dedicated to the provision of responsive capabilities to reduce, eliminate and counter the full range of these threats (both current and evolving) and to mitigate their consequences. In this mission, we support the whole of the United States Government, the Department of Defense and all Warfighting Commands. The organization's Joint Directorate of Strategy, Plans and Resources (J2/5/8R) implements this critical responsibility by planning, integrating, synchronizing, and executing Department of Defense-wide efforts to counter the threat posed by WMD. The proposed effort will also support the Standing Joint Forces Headquarters for Elimination (SJFHQ-E). Support requirements for these duties are challenging and constantly evolving. They mandate an extensive range of related subject matter expertise resident in both the National Capital Area and all Global Combatant Commands. The provision of World-Class, flexible and responsive A&AS expertise is a fundamental element of our institutional ability to maintain an increasingly tenuous peace in an unstable and dangerous geopolitical environment. REGISTRATION: Space is limited to 100 attendees; therefore, attendance shall be on a first come first serve basis. To ensure participation by as many companies as possible, attendance shall be limited to a maximum of two attendees per company. To register, please submit the following registration information for proposed attendees to Mr. Chad Roney (chad.m.roney.civ@mail.mil) no later than 12 May 2015, 1200 Eastern Time. Please note that registration for the Industry Day constitutes consent to the listing of your company and POC's in FedBizOpps (FBO). • Email Subject Line: J2/5/8R A&AS Industry Day • Full Name • Title • Company Name • Address • DUNS #: • Cage Code: • Telephone: • Email: AGENDA: The agenda for the Industry Day will consist of registration from 0800 to 0830, with briefings to be conducted from 0900 to 1100 on the requirement and projected acquisition strategy including a question/answer period. In addition, from 1100 to 1500, DTRA/SCC-WMD will schedule 30-60 minute sessions to provide an opportunity for individual contractors to ask questions. DTRA/SCC-WMD requests that only Prime contractors interested or considering this effort should submit a request to schedule a one-on-one session with your registration and indicate whether you are requesting 30 or 60 minutes. These sessions will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, and may be requested after registration as well. The one-on-one sessions will be held in separate meeting rooms, so the presentation room will be available for contractor use until all one-on-one sessions are completed. A more detailed agenda will be posted on FBO as it becomes available. QUESTIONS: DTRA will post a series of draft documents in FBO prior to the Industry Day for review by interested parties. Industry inquiries may be directed in writing by email to Mr. Chad Roney at chad.m.roney.civ@mail.mil.
