- DRAWINGS/DIMIENSIONS OF STEEL TANKS Request for Information for QTY (5) Stainless Steel Tanks. GENERAL INFORMATION Document Type: Request for Information Solicitation Number: N62306-15-T-A004 Contracting Office Address: Department of the Navy, Naval Oceanographic Office Contracts 01C 1002 Balch BLVD Stennis Space Center, MS 39522-5001 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) is surveying the marketplace for all interested parties, and is soliciting information and comments from industry and other interested parties. NAVOCEANO is requesting information pertaining to vendor sources, capabilities and the feasibility of providing 5 stainless steel tanks. A sample sketch is attached to this RFI and a complete build-to drawing will be supplied with the eventual solicitation. The tanks must be steel (no substitutes authorized). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Navy to form a binding contract. Firms responding should indicate whether they are, or are not, a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, or a woman owned business. The general definition of a small business is on that is independently owened and operated, is not dominant in the field of operation in which it is proposing on Navy Contracts and with is afifiliates; and the number of employees does not exceed 500. NAICS code to be used for this acquisition is 332420. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based upon responses hereto for any subsequent acquisitions. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/Foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated use of foreign national employees on this effort. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any government assessments. The Governement's evaluation of the capability statements received will factor in to whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses, or any particular small business designation (e.g. SDVOSB, HUBZone, 8(a), SDB, WOSB, VOSB, etc.) INFORMATION REQUESTED: Interested vendors are requested to provide the following: - Company description - Pro vide manufacturing capabilities, including relevant history manufacturing the same or similar tanks and utilizing similar processes. - Provide examples of prior projects working on or completed for the same or similar specifications - Provide examples and photographs of manufactured products of similar size and complexity. - Provide all applicable Federal standards, policies and regulations met. - Provide Quality Assurance systems in place, certifications, capabilities, and qualifications, especially in regards to welding. - Identify whether the company can meet a throughput requirement of 1 stainless steel tank by 15 July 2015 and 4 stainless steel tanks within 90 calendar days after contract award and the implications of this throughput (ie, hire additional personnel, expand facilities, subcontracting, etc.) - Provide any additional information that will assist in understanding responses to this RFI. CONCLUSION In response to this RFI, all interested parties must submit written responses, preferably via electronic mail. The Navy does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited. While the Navy intends to use this information for future acquisition planning purposes, it will not release any information about your approach that might in any way compromise your competitive posture or proprietary information. The Navy will not use any information provided to level your company's approach relative to another competitor. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. The Navy will not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Navy regulations. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP/RFQ that may be issued. Information provided in no way binds the Navy to solicit or award a contract. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website: www.fbo.gov.
