Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to solicit and negotiate a New Sole Source Fixed-Price Type Contract with up to four (4) option years to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) to provide G4 reliability improvement retrofit kits and G4 Retrofit Generator Convertor Units (GCU's) in support of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6421 GCU. The supplies and/or services to support the GCU reliability improvement retrofit efforts may include, manufacturing and/or installation of parts or kits in support of GCU engineering change proposals, product improvements, studies and/or engineering investigations, training in support of GCU upgrades and repair processes, and associated technical, financial, and administrative data, with planned deliveries occurring January 2017 through December 2017 in the base year. A total anticipated quantity of 820 G4 Reliability improvement retrofit kits need to be delivered and installed within this contract period and an anticipated quantity of 600 G4 Retrofit Generator Converter Units. This acquisition will support the USN and RAAF. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' This synopsis is for informational purposes only. Sufficient Market Research was performed by a Sources Sought notification. NAVAIR Small Business Office concurs to not set aside this procurement for Small Business.
