- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY-SOLICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Mission & Installation Contracting Command is conducting market research in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 10. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this announcement is 541512, code size is $27.5M. Responses to this Request for Information (RFID) are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This request is for market research (FAR Part 10) purposes to determine potential businesses capable of providing the product described herein. Respondents should note that the Government will not return any information submitted in response to this request. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred by respondents providing information to this request. Respondents must submit capability statements that clearly define the firm's ability to perform the service stated. Responses must include the company name, address, business size, CAGE Code, DUNS number, and point-of-contact name, phone number, and e-mail address. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. ET on April 28, 2015. Questions or comments regarding this notice may be addressed to Sabrina Galloway, email Sabrina.m.galloway2.civ@mail.mil The requirement is to provide comprehensive Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID) Maintenance to the Army Logistics University (ALU), Fort Lee, Virginia. The RFID system technology help libraries achieve higher self-service usage, and effectively manage their circulation and collections with technology designed and made specifically for library applications. The system ensures that library materials check-out and check-in faster, customers can check-out multiple items at once; accurate shelving of library items; eliminates frustration of search; and increases customer convenience. The RFID system is also a security mechanism for the library inventory control of its holdings. It gathers statistics on the re-shelving of books by the staff using the hand-held reader; detection gates monitoring library books existing the library and keeping statistics of library patron's attendance. Army Logistics University (ALU) mission is to provide academic and educational training material and services in support of Fort Lee, VA and all Army Logistics University colleges. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government. This Sources Sought is to notify companies that the Fort Lee-MICC is seeking sources to provide Army Logistics University (ALU) with radio frequency identification maintenance and support. SIRSIDynix provides the RFID annual service for the (ALU) library software/hardware. The RFID team is constantly acquiring new/acquisitions to add to its collection to support student's staff and faculty researchers of the Fort Lee community. These acquisitions are added to existing holdings must be properly secured at all times to save library funds. Contractor shall be capable of furnishing all software maintenance support to support SIRSIDynix upgrades. SIRSIDynix provides the RFID annual service for the (ALU) library software/hardware. The RFID maintenance and support annual service for (ALU). The RFID will provide essential inventory control of library assets, that they are properly secured and less susceptible to unaccounted loss. The system moves beyond security to become tracking systems that combine security with more efficient tracking of library materials throughout the library, including easier and faster charge and discharge, inventorying and materials handling. This system will also enhance the staff personnel in support and productivity.
