Description
This is a sub-contracting opportunity with Alutiiq Education and Training at the Bamberg Job Corps Center. The Bamberg Job Corps Center is seeking bids to secure the services of a design-build contractor to provide new ducted HVAC split and packaged, heat pump systems that serve the needs of the building. Findings: The six existing 2-ton, split systems, heat pumps, and one electric furnace serving the Academic building are not providing adequate coverage and temperature control. The building consists of six large spaces, and seven smaller spaces. The existing systems provide direct conditioning to only seven spaces. Project: Design-build to provide new ducted HVAC split and packaged heat pump systems that serve the needs of the building. The new systems shall provide zone control of logically grouped spaces by orientation and function, and code required outside ventilation air. All new systems shall meet the latest Energy Star efficiency requirements. Existing split systems will be removed and given to facilities for possible repurposing to another building. Notes: Include one 10 ton split system heat pump, one 7.5 ton split system heat pump, and two 2 ton split system heat pumps, all with insulated supply and return ductwork systems, diffusers and return grilles for all spaces. Ceiling removal and reinstallation by contractor. New electrical connections. Demo and removal of all existing systems. General Conditions: Davis-Bacon prevailing wage will be followed. Provide Warranty information with bid submittal. No work may be started without the issuance of a Purchase Order. All changes must be approved by Purchasing Coordinator in advance. Contractor must be licensed and insured to perform this type of work. All work to be code compliant and installed in a professional manner. Contractor is responsible for all field measurements and verification of existing conditions. All contractors working at the Bamberg Job Corps Academy are required to sign in and out each day. Vehicles entering and exiting the center are subject to search. Work may be scheduled between the hours of 8:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Bid proposal to include breakout of material, labor and mark-up with pricing good for 60 days. There should be no un-necessary interaction between contractor and the Bamberg Job Corps Center students. Contractors must dress appropriately and visitor's badges must be worn. Tools and material must be secured at the end of each day. All contractors are subject to the Bamberg Job Corps Center rules and regulations for work at this site. The Bamberg Job Corps Center is a non-smoking facility. Project may be canceled if funding is withdrawn.
