Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), Region 4 announces its intent to advertise a formal announcement opportunity for Design-Build construction excellence in public construction. This design build opportunity shall be for the design and build repair and improvements to stormwater drainage and moisture protection systems at the pedestrian and service tunnels in the Atlanta Federal Center, in Atlanta, Georgia and shall appear on/on about May 18, 2015. The project involves the design, repair, and improvement of rainwater drainage systems and moisture protection systems at the building envelope surrounding the pedestrian and service/utility tunnels in the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center (AFC), Atlanta, Georgia. The existing building envelope at this area involves cast-in-place concrete floor slabs, roof decks, and foundation walls. The roof assembly over the tunnels involves split slabs with bituminous waterproofing membranes in the split. The roof deck above the pedestrian/utility tunnels serves as a portion of the main plaza area and has pavers installed as the top surface above a waterproofing membrane and protection board. Where the exterior sides of foundation walls are backfilled, waterproofing membranes and associated drainage boards and/or protection boards are installed against the walls. The stormwater drainage adjacent to this area involves cast iron, ductile iron and PVC pipe of various sizes. This work will require closure and demolition of a portion of Forsyth Street and sidewalks to access and repair the tunnel. Re-routing of all vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be required. This procurement shall be unrestricted. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A RESPONSE TO THIS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE IS NOT REQUIRED.
