Description
The following announcement has been amended to include the following paragraph: The principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 333924 for Forklift Manufacturing and Pallet Movers Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 750 employees. A wholesale trade or retail trade business submitting a quote for this requirement is categorized as a non-manufacturer and deemed small if it has 500 or fewer employees and meets the requirements of 13 CFR 121.406. Vendors must complete the attached Business Declaration Form and return with quote submittal. The following questions and answers are provided for this requirement: 1.Will a sit-down model forklift work? No, the FAA requires a stand-up forklift. 2.What fork length do you require? 42" long? 48" long? 60" long? Or longer? 48 forks for the electric lift. The Telehandler fork length would be determined by what is required to safely handle the requested work platform. 3.Do you require a side-shifter (to shift both forks left or right hydraulically from the operator's seat) OR a side-shifting fork positioner (to shift both forks left or right hydraulically from the operator's seat AND be able to spread the forks out as wide as the carriage or bring the forks very close together until they almost touch)? The indoor electric lift only needs left/right carriage shifting. The Telehandler requires both. 4. Do you require a flashing strobe light? Yes, an amber flashing beacon is required on both pieces of equipment. The following requirement is set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The FAA is hereby soliciting quotes for the following: The FAA Airport Technology Research and Development Branch has a requirement for an indoor forklift (quantity 1) and a telehandler (quantity 1).
