- PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT The Federal Aviation Administration s (FAA) posted an announcement on April 21, 2015 on the FAA s contacting opportunities web page informing industry of a requirement referred to as the Interim HelpDesk Contract (IHC) for Helpdesk and Deskside support. The announcement stated as follows: The Federal Aviation Administration s (FAA) Office of Information and Technology (AIT) has a requirement referred to as the Interim HelpDesk Contract (IHC) for Helpdesk and Deskside support for AIT internal resources and FAA end users (Government employees and contractors) and certain designated external stakeholders. The IHC supports networks and systems that include: Local area networks (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), peripheral devices, personal computer (PC) workstations, laptops, general office automation and collaboration software, FAA-specific software, electronic messaging system, mobility devices (iPad, tablets, etc.), program office (program management) technical support, training support, and special projects support. This is an interim requirement to provide this support while the FAA conducts a procurement for these services for a longer term. The interim requirement is for one base year with two six-month option periods. The FAA is currently in the process of implementing a procurement for long-term support and has issued a market survey for this requirement which was posted on the FAA s contract opportunities web-page on January 29, 2015. For this interim requirement, the FAA has issued a competitive Screening Information Request (SIR) to pre-qualified Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) or Indian Tribe, 8(a) certified vendors. The firms received the SIR on the date this announcement was published. The firms will be given the option of announcing their participation in the procurement for the purpose of providing subcontracting opportunities. The FAA will issue a public announcement identifying the firms authorizing the announcement.
