Description
DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island, Illinois, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition Systems (OPM-MAS) is seeking sources for the potential build of 25,000 to 50,000 40MM M922A1 Dummy Cartridges. This dummy cartridge is used as a drill round to train users in handling ammunition and loading the MK19 series grenade machine gun. This cartridge is completely inert and simulates a loaded round of 40MM HE ammunition in size, shape, and weight. This fixed round is a one (1) piece solid aluminum round. There is no separate cartridge case. Four (4) grooves allow easy repositioning of M16A2 link after being cycled through the weapon. There is a hole in the base to prevent damage to the firing pin. The 40MM M922A1 Dummy Cartridge is packed in a can with ten (10) cartridges linked with M16A2 40MM Links in the M2A1 metal container. Two (2) M2A1 metal containers are over packed in a wire-bound wooden box (for a total of 20 rounds per wire-bound box).
