Description

This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and NO solicitation documents are currently publically available. Description of Proposed work: Contractor shall furnish supervision, equipment, labor and materials and perform work for Project 623-15-105 Water Tower Corrosion Control at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center, Muskogee, OK which generally is described as follows: 1)Tie city water high pressure service to existing hospital service: a)Construct approximately 170 LF of new 8" C900 city water feed to Hospital from 12" city pressure main to a point upstream of the existing valve and meter vault. Work includes new isolation valves, new meter and vault, and all required trenching, backfill and landscape restoration. 2)Paint interior of water tower: a)Clean, prepare surfaces and paint the interior of the riveted steel, elevated 100,000 gallon Potable Water Tower: i)Clean surfaces to remove grease, oil and other deterrents to paint adhesion in accordance with SSPC-SP 1 (Solvent Cleaning). ii)Remove all existing coatings. Prepare all surfaces to SSPC-SP10/NACE2. Near-White Blast Cleaning. b)Prime: MPI 18-12 Zinc-Rich Organic Primer. c)Paint: Stripe coat at seams and two (2) coats of MPI 98 High Build Epoxy Coating 3)Paint exterior of water tower as follows: a)Clean, prepare surfaces and paint the exterior of the Potable Water Tower: i)Remove oil, grease, and soil, drawing and cutting compounds, flux and other detrimental foreign matter in accordance with SSPC-SP 1 (Solvent Cleaning). ii)Remove loose mill scale, rust, and paint, by hand or power tool cleaning, as defined in SSPC-SP 2 (Hand Tool Cleaning) and SSPC-SP 3 (Power Tool Cleaning). iii)Spot prime abraded and damaged areas in shop prime coat which expose bare metal. Feather edge of spot prime to produce smooth finish coat. b)Prime: MPI 79 Marine Alkyd Metal Primer finishes. c)Paint: Two coats of MPI 8 (Exterior Alkyd, Flat) or MPI 9 (Exterior Alkyd Enamel). i)Tank Exterior shall be applied by brush or roller. 4)All work shall be performed in accordance with project Specifications and Drawings. 5)Contract shall be completed within 180 days following Notice to Proceed. Estimated Price Range: Between $250,000 and $500,000. Location of the work: Jack C. Montgomery VAMC, 1011 Honor Heights Drive, Muskogee, OK 74401-1318 Tentative dates: ***All dates are estimates. Actual dates will be listed in the Invitation for Bid. *** Issuance of invitation: on or about May 14, 2015 Organized Site Visit/ Walk Through: on or about May 21, 2015 Bid Opening: on or about June 15, 2015 Contract Period of Performance: 180 calendar days after issuance of notice to proceed Plans, drawings, and specifications as applicable will be made available electronically via FedBizOpps at the time the invitation to bid is posted. Award is restricted 100% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Bidders must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award.
