Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. No Solicitation is currently available. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 5, Network Contracting Activity will be issuing a solicitation to award a construction contract to a General Contractor for Project 688-345, construction to 'Expand Visitor/ Patient Parking Phase I.' The Parking Garage Expansion Phase 1 vertical expansion will be constructed on top of the newly completed standalone precast parking garage which is located at the north side of the campus located in lot 2A. The existing structure levels B2, B1, and Ground provides approximately 327 parking spaces. The Parking Garage Expansion Phase 1 shall add approximately 310 parking spaces including the appropriate number of additional accessible spaces required by the latest VA guidelines. The vertical expansion shall consist of an additional two and a half supported levels to the existing three-level structure. The Parking Garage Expansion Phase 1 parking structure will replicate the current garage configuration. The scope of work includes the design of electrical power, lighting, communications and fire alarm systems for the parking garage expansion. Scope of electrical work includes: replacement of open parking lot pole mounted lighting, new parking garage light fixtures and controls, ground fault protected weatherproof receptacles, branch circuit wiring, Life Safety and Security Systems and Communication Systems devices and expansions of existing systems within the garage. In addition, scope also includes garage interface with Building 1 and 6 existing systems. At this point in the procurement process, the Department of Veterans Affairs is performing market research to determine contractor socio-economic category, e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, etc. and bonding capacity. Interested firms should send, by e-mail only, the following information: Socio-Economic Category; DUNS number; Maximum bonding capability for a single bid and; total maximum bonding capacity. Information shall be sent to lisa.mcneely@va.gov by 12:00 PM EST May 8, 2015. Estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Information received will be used in any set aside determination. The NAICS code for this procurement will be 236220.
