Description
CLOSING DATE UPDATED TO 22-MAY-2015 Request for Information Airborne RF Direction Finding Systems The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN), Atlantic is seeking information about commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) airborne direction finding systems. The proposed DF System will be integrated with an existing, carry-on/carry-off system. For the purposes of this RFI, it is assumed that the proposed DF System shall consist of Permanent (Group A) or Temporary (Group B) equipment. The proposed DF system shall passively determines a line of bearing (LOB) to a radio frequency (RF) energy source in the 20 MHz to 3000 MHz (Threshold), with 3-20 MHz and/or 3000-6000 MHz considered as objective frequency ranges. In order to support integration with the existing, carry-on/carry-off threat warning system, the supplier shall provide technical information regarding interfaces (mechanical, electrical, logical) of the proposed solution. Moreover, the proposed solution shall provide a public application programming interface (API) that supports sensor management (configure, calibrate, etc), DF tasking, and built-in test. The supplier shall provide technical details regarding the environmental specifications (e.g. MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, or equivalent) met by proposed solution. Note that the Group B equipment must able to operate in non pressurized spaces with operating temperatures from 0C to +50C. The supplier shall provide a top-level component breakdown of the proposed solution, along with corresponding size, weight and power (SWaP) values. Supplier shall provide evidence of operational capability within an accuracy of 5-15 degree range (RMS) of the true relative bearing of the test signals. SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic is only interested in information on devices that are currently available on airborne platforms, or easily adaptable to the airborne environments. For systems that are not currently available on airborne platforms, the supplies shall provide information regard the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the proposed solution as well as a roadmap / plan for adapting the equipment for use on airborne platforms. Responses to this RFI should be e-mailed to Ashlee Landreth (e-mail: ashlee.landreth@navy.mil, phone: 843-218-4082) or mailed to: SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic, Attn: Code 56220AH (Ashlee Landreth), P.O.
