- The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.5, with McLane Research Laboratories Inc. for one (1) Environmental Sample Processor for the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) located in Ann Arbor, MI. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on April 14, 2015 and closed on April 21, 2015. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source The Environmental Sample Processor being purchased is manufactured solely by McLane Research Laboratories Inc. located in East Falmouth, MA and is the only source of this part due to the proprietary nature of this product because the company was awarded the sole license to manufacture the Environmental Sample Processor by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI).
