- Questions regard the description and quantity of these plates: What are the dimensions of the plates, and specifically the gauge or thickness i.e. 6, 8, 12 gauge?40 ½ X 31inches ------.3millileters thick Are these the typical photosensitive plates used in offset printing?--Yes Do these plates have any wet ink residue which may come off when in contact with the shredding equipment?---No What is the approximate weight of one of the drums referenced in the description?---250lbs Are all of the plates the same size?---No, the plates in the drums have been cut into 2X8 inch strips Iis there a place to perform the work?-Work will be performed on site at the U.S. Government Publsihing Office 732 North Capitol Street, NW Washington, DC in the loading dock area is there a standard 115 volt outlet near the work area?----Yes How far from the loading dock area to the material?---Material shall be brought to the loading dock area 1. All destruction must be completed on-site, in one business day, and witnessed by GPO Personnel security group along with SID employees. 2. Shredder machine used, must use a screen size no bigger than 30mm. 3. Residual pieces will be removed from GPO property by the contractor. 4. All resulting materials should be melted down or "smelted" according to local, state, and federal guidelines with complete accountability. 5. A certificate of destruction will be given to GPO, certifying the material has been rendered un-recoverable. This certificate should suffice for all compliance purposes.
