Description
MODIFICATION/AMENDMENT 1: The purpose of this modification/amendment is to provide the Government's response to an interested vendor's question. Question: Can you provide any background information on the transmit architecture, perhaps including a block diagram? It would be useful to know how many SSPA's would be used in each transmitter, if the transmitter is a dual or multiple polarity arrangement, etc. Would you have any photos of the existing transmitter rack? Among other things, this information would aid us in proposing the optimal spares strategy. Response: Each radar system will use a single SSPA, connected to an antenna through a circulator/duplexer waveguide system. Although there will be two radar systems on each aircraft, they are totally independent (including two antennas), except for synchronized transmit pulse timing. The antennas are slotted flat plates, and there is no dual- or multi-polarity mode. No block diagram is available. No photos of the existing transmitter rack are available.
