Description
VA248-15-Q-1065 Questions and Answers that arose from Site Visit: 1.Is the pricing done one or two generators? Answer: The requirement is for two generators, and only one installation hook-up required. 2.What is the capacity of the fuel tanks? Answer: 348 3.Will the units be running inside the garage when needed? Will there be proper ventilation at the garage? Answer: The units will run outside only in time of emergency. 4.Page 2 of the solicitation is requesting 2 generators, is this correct? Answer: Yes we are requesting 2 generators configured exactly the same. 5.Does the VA want cable to go between the generator and the docking station? Answer: Yes the cables that are on the generator will be run from the generator to the docking station. 6.If yes to above, how many feet of cable? (50ft is standard) Answer: 5 runs of 200amp cable (208 volts to building) at 100 feet each for each unit. 7.Who will pay for the first fill of fuel of the generators? Answer: The Requirement is to have filled generators at the pharmacy and ready to start. The generators do not have to be transported filled. Vendors can provide the most cost effective method to accomplish this. 8.Who is the authority having jurisdiction for the site? (who will be permitting and inspecting the work) Answer: The COR will be Mr. Bill Hagen and he will permit and inspect the work. 9.Would you like a battery charger receptacle, block heater receptacle, and generator accessory power circuits to be installed near the generator docking station? The generator battery charger needs to be plugged in to keep the battery from dying. Answer: The batteries will be maintained by the Power plant and charged as needed. We do not see the need for it. If it is possible to have a 110 vac outlet outside by the pig tail receptacle that would be nice. 10.The specifications do not mention also running conduit and wire for engine start wires between the transfer switch and the docking station. This is necessary for automatic operation. Would the VA like this done also? Answer: Not needed. The generator is not staying on site there. It will be stored and maintained at the Power plant. 11. These generators are not permanently installed at the pharmacy. They will be taken there if there is a prolonged power outage. Answer: Correct, the generators will be used in time of emergency. 12. Are there any bonding requirements for this project (bid, performance or payment)? Answer: No. Payment will be made when the electrical work is completed, and the generators are received and accepted. 13.Do you require the pin and sleeve devices for one or both generators. Answer: Yes, both generators are to be exactly the same. 14.Is fuel supplied by the contractor? If so, for one or both tanks? Answer: The generators are to be 100% full of fuel and ready to start at site. 15.How many feet of the 200 amp cord are required? Answer: 5 runs of 200amp cable (208 volts to building) at 100 feet each for each unit. 16.Are material alternates acceptable? Answer: No. 17.I would like to confirm if the transfer switch is manual or automatic? Answer: Automatic. 18.Do we include sales tax in our proposal or will the VA be providing a sales tax exemption certificate? Answer: Your quote can be broken out like this below and you may submit back up showing itemized quote breakdown (cost of each line item, plus sales tax). 19.Is it possible to post the attendee list for the site visit?
