- Description
- Sources Sought - RFI The United States Postal Service (USPS) is seeking new and/or updated product information with the intent to pre-qualify suppliers for extending the bin capacity of USPS package sorters, namely, the Automated Parcel and Bundle Sorter (APBS) and Automated Package Processing System (APPS). The USPS currently has 211 APBS systems and 74 APPS in service. These machines are very large in size and were developed to accommodate bundle and package processing. With the growth in USPS package business, the USPS has a need to extend the capability of these systems to accommodate greater volumes by adding additional sortation bins to the existing output bins of the APBS and APPS. The USPS seeks a modular system, in the 16 - 80 output bin range, that can be added to one or multiple output bins on the APBS and APPS.
