Description
The United States Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) is inviting interested contractors to attend a Pre-Solicitation Conference for Legacy System Modernization Services on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the RRB Headquarters facility. The meeting will begin promptly at 9:00am and end by 12:00pm, Central Time. The purpose of the Pre-Solicitation Conference is for the RRB to obtain feedback and comments from interested contractors regarding the RRB's Statement of Work (SOW) for the RRB's upcoming solicitation for Legacy System Modernization Services. In the solicitation the RRB will request proposals from interested contractors to provide services to migrate the RRB's current mainframe based application environment into a Microsoft Windows-based system and reengineer the migrated applications as well as consolidate applications for efficiencies. The RRB requires that the services be provided in two phases: Phase One includes migrating the mainframe applications using automated tools, and Phase Two includes reengineering the migrated applications and consolidating for efficiencies. Personnel from the RRB's Bureau of Information Services (BIS) will provide an overview of the requested services and will discuss technical aspects of the project in the Pre-Solicitation Conference. The RRB Contracting Officer and Acquisition Management staff will also provide an overview of the Acquisition Strategy for this procurement. The RRB intends to post the draft Legacy System Modernization Services Statement of Work (SOW), or a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) to this FedBizOpps notice by COB on May 15, 2015 along with a conference agenda. The RRB will post a record of the Pre-Solicitation Conference event, including a list of the attendees, to this FBO Special Notice by Thursday May 28, 2015. The RRB requests written feedback and comments from interested contractors/conference attendees regarding the draft SOW, or the draft Request for Proposal (RFP) to be submitted to the RRB by 2:00pm Central Time June 1, 2015 to proposals@rrb.gov. The email Subject Line MUST state: Comments and Suggestions to RRB Legacy Systems Modernization Services draft SOW/RFP.
