- Description
- NASA/AFRC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the following Commercial Services/Items: Complete overhaul of two (2) Rolls Royce Spey MK 511-8 engines (to including Trunnion & Mount Bolt Overhaul Exchange Kits) specifically configured for a Gulfstream G-III aircraft. This requirement is in support of the NASA SubsoniC Research Aircraft Testbed (SCRAT) and the Adaptive Compliant Trailing Edge (ACTE) project. The G-III aircraft tail number is N804NA (serial number 344) and the engine serial numbers are 11021 & 11022. The engines are currently installed on the aircraft. The SCRAT aircraft is located at NASA Armstrong Research Center, Edwards, CA and shall remain there through the duration of the contract. Under the requirement, the aircraft engines on the G-III are to be removed, overhauled, installed, and rigged successfully by an FAA and AS9110 certified Rolls Royce Spey Engine Overhaul Facility that can provide proper documentation to certify the engines airworthiness and provide full documentation of compliance when the overhauls are completed. The specific technical requirement is per the attached G-III 804 SCRAT/ACTE Engine Overhaul draft Statement of Work (SOW). The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336412 and 1000 employees, respectively. The anticipate release date of RFP # NND15549896 will be on or around May 15, 2015 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about May 30, 2015. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
