- Description
- GPO.gov 2.0 Request For Proposal document The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) is the Federal Government's official, digital, secure resource for producing, procuring, cataloging, indexing, authenticating, disseminating, and preserving the official information products of the U.S. Government. The GPO is responsible for the production and distribution of information products and services for all three branches of the Federal Government, including U.S. passports for the Department of State as well as the official publications of Congress, the White House, and other Federal agencies in digital and print formats. GPO provides for permanent public access to Federal Government information at no charge through our Federal Digital System (www.fdsys.gov), partnerships with approximately 1,200 libraries nationwide participating in the Federal Depository Library Program, and our secure online bookstore. The gpo.gov website is the agency's primary portal for services provided by GPO. Our audiences include Congressional offices, Federal agencies, depository libraries, private sector vendors, and the general public. In an effort to rebrand the agency, the GPO is looking to redevelop the public facing website using Telerik Sitefinity, a.NET web content management system (WCMS), and Microsoft Azure Federal cloud hosting services. The redeveloped site will better meet the needs of today's users including improved support for mobile devices through a responsive interface and compliant with Federal accessibility requirements. GPO's goal is to launch the new gpo.gov 2.0 site by December 15, 2015, using an Agile software development process. The overall approach is based on Scrum (www.scrumalliance.org) with additional deliverables required by GPO, as detailed in this statement of work.
