Description
Microscope TITLE: Sources Sought Notice FDA SS-1148269 This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE to determine the availability of potential small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) in accordance with FAR 7.104(d). The potential small business will need to demonstrate the capability to perform all facets of the work described below. The sole intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain capabilities for set-aside and procurement planning purposes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is not an invitation for bid, request for proposal, or other solicitation, and in no way obligates the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to award a contract. BACKGROUND: The Food and Drug Administration's Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services have a requirement for a Microscope with accessories to facilitate microscopic examination of neuropathology slides resulting from the various experimental treatments. The specific requirements: Microscope components and required accessories • Main Body- microscope frame with tranmitd arm LED illumination • White LED Lamphouse assembly o 7 position nosepiece o Right hand mechanical stage o slide holder o Swing Condenser o Polarizer o Analyzer for transmitted light o (2) AC power cord o Dual observation- face to face teaching head o Tilting Binocular OBS Tube 5-35 DEG, reverse o Tilting Trinocular head o LED Pointer unit o (2) lOX eyepiece for BX (2) & FOC BX Focus Able o Objective lenses: 2X;4X; lOX;20X;40X;GOX o Reticle (10 mm in 100 DIV 24MM Diamm Dia) o Biological Stage Micrometer lMM/100 units o Color Camera kit with software o Camera adapter o Cloth dust cover Component and Performance Specifications: • Mechanical stage- right hand • Ergonomic design: TheY-shaped design of the Olympus BX43 maximizes access to the sample while minimizing desk space used. The observation tubes should have tilting capability to reduce neck and back strain for both the primary and secondary users. • The trinocular head should be a 50/50 split in the default position, with the option to change the light to 0/100 or 100/0 to the camera. • Left release slide holder, double slide, thick • Objective lenses: 2X- Plan Achromat & 4X;lOX;20X;40X;GOX-fluorite objective • Light Intensity Manager switch allows user to present light intensities for each objective,reducing eye-strain when switching between objectives • Coded nosepiece that controls light intensity as objective magnifications are switched • Color Camera kit with Cellsens entry license • 17.3 million pixel (4800x3600) ceo camera • Peltier cooling to -10 C0 below ambient • Image bit depth of 14 bits for each color channel (red, green,blue) • Four image resolution options (4800x3600, 2400x4800, 1600x1200,800x600) • Live 1600x1200 color image preview at 15 frames per second • Capable of image display in AdobeRGB and sRGB color space modes. • Control software with white balance for bright field imaging • Control software that can save images in TIFF,JPEG, BMP,PICT, and AVI format • Control software capable of adding a scale bar and annotations to the images. • Image management software with auto-save and auto­naming capability.
