Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Butler Healthcare, at 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA has an ongoing need for radiologic services in the Mercer County and Lawrence County area. The anticipated awarded contract shall include one base year with four option years. The intent is to establish a contract to provide radiologic services five days per week, during normal business hours which are 7:30am to 5:00pm. The service is to provide diagnostic radiology testing and interpretation including computer tomography (CT), diagnostic radiology, ultrasound imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The Contractor shall be a company, hospital, or physician practice group that has the qualification, experience and expertise in providing quality radiologic testing that meet the requirements of this contract. The Contractor shall be required to provide three (3) references that document their stated capabilities. The need for radiologic testing to be done in Mercer County is to provide care for veterans closer to the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The testing being done in Mercer County allows veterans to receive testing closer to their homes. The concept of having a contract for veterans in Mercer and Lawrence Counties is to provide veterans easier access to get their testing done. VA Pittsburgh would be the closest VA facility and it is over one hour away. Additionally, VA Pittsburgh does not have sufficient capacity internally to handle the additional workload without sacrificing veteran access and timely care.
