- U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) anticipates contracting on a sole source basis with L-3 Communications Corporation, 1355 Bluegrass Lakes Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30004 for Vertical Instrument Display Unit service life extension to include upgrades and enchancements, used on legacy Army Special Operations Aircraft. The proposed action will be processed as a Firm Fixed Price contract for equipment which the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.1. Firms that recognize and can provide the supplies are encouraged to identify themselves. This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal; however, the Government will consider all proposals received by the specified due date IAW FAR 5.203 (a). A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 336413; the business size is 1000 employees. The estimated date of the solicitation is on or about 28 May 2015.
