Description

VA786-15-R-0221 Pre Solicitation Notice for Various Projects Keokuk National Cemetery, 1701 J Street, Keokuk, IA 52632 RFP VA786-15-R-0221 - The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, supervision, professional expertise, vehicles, tools, materials, services, equipment and quality control. 100% Set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) NAIC: 238910 Size Standard: $15 million Magnitude of Construction: Between $100,000 and $250,000 Overview: This project is for various general construction improvements to the buildings and the grounds at Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa. For the Administration/Maintenance Building, the work includes installation of a new security system, a new fire detection and alarm system, the replacement of two electrical panels (electric circuit breakers to be re-used), two new receptacles in the break room with a new circuit and breaker, the refinishing of the men's and women's visiting restrooms (floors, walls and ceiling) as well as exterior brick repair to various areas of the building. Adjacent to the Administration/Maintenance building, the work includes brick repair to two sets of exterior stairs as well as the modification/stabilization of the adjacent steep slope with the placement of flagstone. For the garage and lodge built in 1870, the work includes removal and replacement of the concrete in front of the garage as well as the concrete sidewalk around the lodge. The work also includes the refinishing (painting) of the garage's fascia, soffits, window frames (inside and out), door frames (large and small doors) which entails lead paint removal, splicing/replacing rotted boards with new and the replacement of the gutter and downspouts. The bathroom on the lower level of the garage will also require installation of a single sink on-demand water heater. The work includes site investigation to verify all measurements and site conditions before start of the work and the ordering of any materials. Locate all utilities prior to any digging. The work includes shop drawings and submittals to be approved for all materials to be used. All work shall be performed in a professional workmanship like manner. All adjacent disturbed surfaces shall be repaired to the same quality standards of the existing work and shall also match the adjacent areas. Properly remove and dispose all excess soils and all debris from government property. A pre-bid visit by the bidder is required to get an accurate understanding of the work. Project will be for 60 days after receipt of the notice to proceed. This acquisition is for a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 238910 is applicable. Please reference Solicitation Number VA786-15-R-0221 on remittances. An electronic solicitation will be available for download from www.FedBizOpps.gov on or about May 21, 2015. Responses to the solicitation are due by 2:00 p.m., June 15, 2015. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments to the solicitation which is available at Fed Biz Opps.
