Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION TO ALL SMALL BUSINESSES The Contracting Activity responsible for this action is the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) on behalf of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Viral Diseases Branch (VDB). This RFI is to find capable Small Businesses that can provide the brand name item, Illumina MiSeq next-generation DNA sequencer, or an equal to substitute that matches the following Minimum Essential Characteristics: a.Vendor must be able to accept an Ion Torrent PGM sequencer in trade for its system and provide the Government with a substantial cost reduction for the comparable unit being purchase b.The instrument must be a single integrated system c.The system must have a 8 hours or less turnaround time from purified DNA to direct variant reporting and less than 30 minutes hands-on time d.The system must have an error rate of 1% or less e.The system must have a sequence output of at least 1.5 Gigabase per run f.The system must have a proven track record in the industry and use in peer reviewed publications. g.Cost per Mb sequence in an optimal run $1 or less. h.The system must have an accurate variant detection enabled by proven SBS chemistry i.The system must have a fully optimized, highly multiplexed amplicon and sample assay for targeted resequencing j.The system must have RTA (Real Time Analysis) software to facilitate on instrument image processing and base calling, with a built-in web server with compatible web browsers for Mac, Linux and Windows 7 platforms k.Reagents needed for the systems operation must be ready to use and must enable quote mark paired-end read quote mark support l.The system and all applicable reagents must support solid-phase isothermal amplification. A single operator must be able to amplify up to 96 samples or more on a single channel flow cell in one hour. m.The system must support whole-genome sequencing, Targeted resequencing, De novo sequencing, metagenomics, Paired-end mRNA sequencing, etc. n.Output standard file formats must be compatible with most third party software (i.e. fastq, bam, vcf, text) o.The selling price must include a full one year warranty If you are a Small Business interested in providing the brand name or an equal to system, please contact Sharew Hailu via email at Sharew.Hailu.civ@mail.mil or 301-619-9201.
