Description
The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Project Manager Training Devices (PM TRADE), Product Manager Combat Training Instrumentation Systems (PM CTIS) has an immediate need to procure additional DCIs to fulfill the objective DCI requirement at the JMRC. The JMRC is a forward deployed, European based Combat Training Center (CTC) conducting realistic training for U.S. Army and Allied military units fighting the Global War on Terror. The Legacy JMRC-Instrumentation System (IS) was composed of the Range Data Measurement Subsystem (RDMS) Tetra Terminal Player Unit (TPU) tracking system and a Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) interface for producing proper training feedback. The TPUs are no longer sustained by the original equipment manufacturer. The Data Communications Interface (DCI) interface with the fielded Precision Real Time Location System (PRTLS) radio to obtain Global Positioning System (GPS) position information and provide a two-way communication link between the legacy Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) and the JMRC-IS. The DCI coupled with the PRTLS enables Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) event data and Core Instrumentation System (CIS) administrative and indirect fire commands to be relayed and processed by the JMRC- IS and TESS devices.
