- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for replacement of Fume Hoods at the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory located in Hanover, NH. This announcement is to determine the interest, availability, and capability of HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238220. The project is scheduled to be issued on or about August 1, 2015. The construction will likely start in the fall of 2015 and is expected to take about 8 to 10 months to complete. The estimated construction cost is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 The work primarily involves replacing laboratory fume hoods in the Main Lab Building of the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory which is located in Hanover, New Hampshire. The fume hood replacements, and related work, will take place in four labs (Rooms 160, 170, 177d and 178) and the fan room on the roof of the Main Lab Building. The work specifically includes the replacement and disposal of three (3) fume hoods; integration of hood exhaust systems with the building direct digital control (DDC) system; and HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) system modifications. Hazardous materials handling and disposal is required and will include the abatement of asbestos containing materials (lining of the fume hood to be demolished in rooms 160 and 178), lead contamination (exhaust ductwork and ventilation system components), and appropriate handling of glycol during fume hood exhaust heat recovery coil demolition. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. small business), qualifications and experience with performing at least 3 projects of similar size, nature and complexity and completed within the last 5 years. Also, indicate the team subcontractors that will be used to support the offeror's effort on the project requirements mentioned above. Proof of bonding capability is also required. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Responses are due May 26, 2015. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Stephen Jones. Interested firms shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
