- Description
- Research Data Assistance Center (ResDAC) Sources Sought Final Research Data Assistance Center (ResDAC) is an integral part of the CMS research and data request process and is the front line contact for researchers. ResDAC has a large role in all external research data requests (including precedent setting requests) and the data request process itself. The future ResDAC contractor shall identify obstacles that hinder the current data request process and provide CMS with recommendations on how to improve on the processes. The ResDAC contractor shall assist CMS with developing new data acquisition procedures that will efficiently streamline the current data request process. CMS will need the support and expertise of the ResDAC staff members to help CMS in determining the business requirements needed to create new data access and tracking tools. The changes to CMS' data policies and the creation of new tracking tools will affect how CMS releases data to researchers in the future. There is an overwhelming demand for these changes to occur at CMS with the coming activities surrounding the Innovation Center, Federal-State Coordination, research, demonstrations, and other priority agency projects. Thus, CMS will need to expedite the data acquisition process as quickly and accurately as possible. Furthermore, meeting the aggressive implementation schedule of various provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 has resulted in the overwhelming demand for timely services provided under this contract for use in priority agency projects that will assist CMS in meeting the agency's three part goal of improving health care, strengthening the health of populations, and increasing quality while lowering costs.
