This one-day event will provide a forum by which the SILC BSS contracting office will communicate an overview of our processes and organization; provide general guidance on how to do business with us; and provide information on some upcoming requirements in order to increase competition by sharing useful information. During this event, there will be time allotted to network with Contracting Officers and Small Business Specialists. The event will be structured in two parts: the morning session will consist of general briefings to all attendees on the structure and process of contracting with SILC BSS; while the afternoon session will consist of one-on-one meetings between contracting representatives and representatives from individual companies. Companies are required to pre-register to attend one or both sessions. For more information, please see "Registration" below. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Companies, large and small, including socioeconomic businesses that are interested in SILC Base Support and Services contracting and subcontracting opportunities in areas including, but not limited to: janitorial services; grounds/landscaping services; food services; housing maintenance services; security guard services; and maritime supplies/navigational aids such as buoys and lanterns. Representatives from the emergency contracting branch will also be present to discuss oil spill and other response contracting agreements, such as Basic Ordering Agreements (BOAs). Prior federal contracting experience is not required. Please see attached Powerpoint presentation provided by SILC BSS contracting office for more information about how the buying unit is structured and the goods and services it buys. For more information, you may also search for our upcoming requirements in the Department of Homeland Security Acquisition Planning Forecast System at http://apfs.dhs.gov/ (select Search Forecast and then Filter by Component by selecting USCG/SILC-Base). All attendees are encouraged to attend to increase business contacts, identify potential teaming partners, share best practices and trends and participate in networking, meet and greet and business card exchange. REGISTRATION: Every individual must pre-register to attend this event. Please see attached Registration Form. Note if you are interested in requesting a one-on-one meeting in the afternoon, please make sure you complete all pages of the Form. Please limit the number of attendees from your company to two (2) people, as seats will be limited and reservations will be based on a first come-first served basis. Due to space constraints, no walk-in registration will be permitted, so please be sure to pre-register. There is no cost to attend this event; however, space is limited to the first 150 registrants. There will be no refreshments served at this event. The afternoon session will consist of a series of one-on-one meetings in which individual companies may meet with SILC Base Support and Services contracting staff representing each SILC BSS branch (Base Services; Commodities; and Emergency Procurement). To register for this event, please print the Registration Form, complete and email a copy to: SILCBSS-SmallBusiness@uscg.mil If you have any questions, please send email correspondence to the email address above. Registration will close at 1159 EST on 22 May 2015 or when attendance limit is reached; whichever is sooner. An agenda will be posted prior to the event. This posting will be updated as more information becomes available. Please check back often for updates. NOTE: This forum is one of two Industry Days scheduled in Norfolk in June 2015. The other SILC Industry Day will be for construction, construction services, architectural/engineering services, engineering services, energy services, and environmental engineering services. The construction event is currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2015, and is announced separately here (https://www.fbo.gov/spg/DHS/USCG/USCGFDCCA/HSCG47-15-INDUSTRYDAY/listing.html).
