- Description
- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The following information is provided to assist the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAVAIR) Lakehurst, NJ, in conducting market research of industry to identify alternate options to meet USN needs for hub motors and gearbox assemblies that can be used in mechanizing a weapons skid. The hub motors/gearbox assemblies must be able to operate utilizing a 48V electrical power system and provide necessary torque to two 14-inch wheels at the rear of the skid. One hub motor/gearbox assembly is required for each of these two wheels, and each must provide at least 118 ft-lbs of nominal output torque and 368 ft-lbs of peak output torque. Each hub motor/gearbox assembly must fit within an envelope size of 10.3 in. x 7.7 in. x 8.7 in. The hub motor/gearbox assemblies must be capable of moving a fully loaded skid at 3.5 miles per hour up an 11° ramp. Total weight of the skid when loaded will be 5200 lbs. The hub motor/gearbox assemblies must be capable of operating in ambient conditions from 0°F up to 120°F. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and is issued in conformance with DFARS PGI 206.302-1; it does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB), a Request for Proposal (RFP), or a Request for Quote (RFQ).
