- Verification of Degree Form Statement of Work - PCMO Registered Nurse Statement of Work - PCMO Physician Statement of Work - PCMO Nurse Practitioner This is an open and continuous solicitation. It replaces previous solicitation number "PCMC -TDY-2010 --Temporary Duty Peace Corps Medical Contractor". Contracts will be competed from the pool of applicants as Short-Term PCMO Personal Services Contract (PSC) positions come available. Peace Corps (PC) seeks experienced licensed and nationally certified nurse practitioners and physicians who have at least two years Peace Corps Medical Officer (PCMO) experience within the past five years, to serve as Short-Term PCMOs worldwide. Occasionally a position may be open to a registered nurse with highly specialized qualifications. PCMOs are paid contractors who provide healthcare, education, and counseling, and manage the Peace Corps Volunteer health care programs in their countries of assignment. (See attached Statement of Work for complete description of responsibilities.) Short-Term PCMO contracts may range in duration from a few weeks to no more than 260 work days in a year. The duration of each contract is determined by the requirements of the post needing the PCMO services. Benefits may include the following, depending on citizenship and contract type: *Medical emergency evacuation insurance or United States Embassy health unit access *Airfare to and from country for PCMO *Housing/Utilities **Note: Short-Term PCMOs will not qualify for Per Diem pay exclusive of lodging. All Meals and Incidentals Expenses (M&IE) will be at the responsibility and discretion of the PCMO. Required Qualifications: *Minimum of two years PCMO experience within the last five years; *Current certifications in one of the following: Nurse practitioner, physician, or registered nurse (on rare occasion). *No unfavorable actions related to medical malpractice, state license, clinical privileges, etc. in National Practitioner Data Bank. *A background security investigation is required. The contract award will be subject to the contractor's successful completion of a background security investigation. *Physically fit to work in an overseas environment. Medical Clearance is required for all U.S. citizens. *Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before being awarded a Federal Government contract. Registration can be accomplished at www.sam.gov. *Professional fluency in English; *Ability to receive payment in USD funds electronically. *Peace Corps requires that PCMOs have and maintain a current professional license to practice at the level of their credentials. *All practitioners must maintain their national certifications during the entire contract period. *Nurse practitioners must hold certification from a national certifying organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Desired qualifications: *Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and travel frequently. *When appropriate, competency in the language spoken at post. Application Requirements: 1. All applicants should submit the following materials together to Peace Corps via commercial express mail, or email to the contact information listed for the primary and the secondary points of contact: *Current resume; and *Copies of current professional licenses and certifications. 2. All applicants must arrange to have the following additional documents sent to Peace Corps: *Two confidential professional references submitted directly from the issuing individual. Ask your references to provide a signed, personal reference letter. And, *Primary source verification of professional school attended (NP, MD, RN) submitted directly from the issuing institution (form attached). [If Peace Corps already has this verification from a previous application, resubmission is not necessary.] Competitive evaluation of applicants will be based on the following criteria: *PCMO experience and performance evaluations; *Counseling experience and ability, *Experience providing preventive health education and training to non-medical personnel; *Experience managing and administering health care systems, clinics, or out-patient programs; *Recent relevant primary care experience; *When appropriate, competency in the language spoken at post; and *Interpersonal skills.
