- Vicinity/Area Map Scope of Contract It is the objective of this contract to obtain high quality services to ensure adequate fuel reduction across the site. The Contractor shall perform this work in compliance with all terms, specifications, and provisions of this Contract. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), and incidentals necessary to perform fuel reduction services on the designated areas. LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION The project consists of fuel reduction using machinery with mulching/mastication capabilities on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Big Bear Mulching - From Deary, drive west on State Highway 8 for 0.4 miles and turn right (north) onto State Highway 9. Drive north on State Highway 9 for 2.4 miles, turn right onto County road Mica Mountain Road. Drive north on Mica Mountain Road for 1.6 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 3347. Drive east on Forest Road 3347 for 1.9 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 3847. Drive 1.6 miles on seasonally gated roads (there are two gates open June 15-September 30 on this road system before you get to the unit) 3847 and 3847-A to project area. Refer to the map attached to this contract for additional directions into the units. Unit is flagged in with pink flagging. Note the northern portion of the unit is a property line between Idaho Department of Lands and National Forest. 4707 Unit 1 Mulching - From Deary, drive west on State Highway 8 for 0.4 miles and turn right (north) onto State Highway 9. Drive north on State Highway 9 for 2.4 miles, turn right onto County road Mica Mountain Road. Drive north on Mica Mountain Road for 1.6 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 3347. Drive east on Forest Road 3347 for 1.4 miles and turn right onto Forest Road 4707. Drive 1.1 miles on seasonally gated road 4707 to project area. Refer to the map attached to this contract for additional directions into the units. Units are flagged in with pink flagging. 4707 Units 2 & 3 Mulching - From Deary, drive west on State Highway 8 for 0.4 miles and turn right (north) onto State Highway 9. Drive north on State Highway 9 for 2.4 miles, turn right onto County road Mica Mountain Road. Drive north on Mica Mountain Road for 1.6 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 3347. Drive east on Forest Road 3347 for 1.4 miles and turn right onto Forest Road 4707. Drive 2.7 miles on seasonally gated road 4707 turn left onto road 4707-B. Drive North on road 4707-B for 0.3 miles to the junction of FR 4707-L/4707-G/4707-B. Unit 2 lies on the SE corner of this junction and continues to the South and East. Unit 3 lies on the NW corner of this junction and continues to the North and West. Refer to the map attached to this contract for additional directions into the units. Units are flagged in with pink flagging.
