Description
15-R-0060 RFP The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to award on an other than full and open competition basis, a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (FFP-IDIQ) contract with a period of performance of 5 years, for Wire Harnesses to Glenair, Inc., 1200 Air Way Glendale CA 91201. In order to meet the AIM-9X requirements, the NAWCWD Airborne Instrumentation Division must purchase a minimum of 50 sets, up to a maximum of 400 sets, with 6 harnesses per set, of the following Glenair products: wire harness p/n 897-029, wire harness p/n 897-030, wire harness p/n 897-031, wire harness p/n 897-039, wire harness p/n 987-033, and wire harness p/n 897-034. Due to the strict safety requirements of AIM-9X, only the above mentioned parts meets agency needs. The government would experience a substantial duplication of cost that is not expected to be recovered through competition if these items are manufactured by a company other than Glenair. These harnesses are a component of a telemeter used for operational testing with AIM-9X. Use of another manufacturer's product would require requalification of the telemeter at a substantial cost. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses and questions may be submitted to NAWCWD Contract Specialist Beth Steude by email (preferred): beth.steude@navy.mil, fax to (760) 939-3580, or mail to Commander Code 220000D, NAWCWD, 429 E. Bowen Ave, MS 4015, China Lake, CA 93555-6108.
