Offers are to be received at the Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 19 Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center, 4100 East Mississippi Avenue, Suite 900, Glendale, CO 80246 Attn: Shelly Johnstone, Contract Specialist no later than 2:30 P.M. mountain time on May 28, 2015. You may contact Shelly Johnstone, via email at Shelly.Johnstone@va.gov or via telephone at 303-372-7041 Questions and answers for Solicitation VA259-15-Q-0412 - Housekeeping Services for the Fisher House, VA Health Care System, Salt Lake City, UT Question 1: I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services. Answer 1: No incumbent contractor information available. This is a new requirement. Question 2: I see that bids are due by Thursday May 28th, is there a specific time that quotes are due on this day? Answer 2: Yes, all proposals are due NLT 2:30 P.M. MST Question 3: Is the current Scope of Work the same from previous solicitations? If not what has changed? Answer 3: This is a new requirement. Question 4: Who is the incumbent or who was the last awarded contractor for this job? Answer 4: This is a new requirement. Question 5: What was their awarded price for the contract? Answer 5: This is a new requirement. Question 6: What is the flooring made up of and what is the square footage for each floor type? (VCT, wood, ceramic tile,) Answer 6: Ceramic tile for downstairs and hardwood for upstairs living areas. All bedrooms are carpet, the bathrooms have ceramic tile. There is a total of 16,800 Square feet for all flooring; not sure on individual floors. Question 7: Is there any carpet in the facilities? Answer 7: There is carpet in each bedroom. There are two area rugs. Question 7a: How many square feet? Answer 7a: Total 16,800 floor space. Question 7b: How often is this to be shampooed or steam cleaned? Answer 7b: Once a year or more if needed. Question 8: Of the total square feet that will be cleaned, how much will have to be stripped and waxed? Answer 8: None at this time. Question 8a: Is stripping and waxing be required? Answer 8a: No Question 8b: How often? Answer 8b: N/A Question 9: On average how many rooms are checked out of on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis? Answer 9: On average 160 families a month. Question 10: Of the 20 guest suites, how many are set up with a queen bed and how many are set up with two twin beds in the room? Answer 10: 10 rooms with a single queen bed - 4 rooms with two twin beds - 6 rooms with two queen/full beds. Question 11: Does the Government provide any cleaning supplies or equipment for this job - or is this the sole responsibility of the contractor? Answer 11: Government supplies unless contractor prefers certain kinds. Question 12: Are we responsible for providing toiletries and personal care items (i.e. shampoo, body wash, tooth paste, etc.) for the guests of the Fisher House? Answer 12: No-all donations. Question 13: Will we provide janitorial essentials like toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, trash bags and other cleaning supplies? Answer 13: No-all donations or VA. Question 14: Are we responsible for laundering the dirty lines or is this taken care of by the VA or some other responsible party? Answer 14: Done thru the VA laundry. Question 15: If we are responsible for laundering the linens can you provide detailed list of all the items to be laundered? Answer 15: N/A Question 16: How many towels, how many sheets, blankets, pillow cases, duvets per room will need laundering? Answer 16: N/A Question 17: In terms of the laundry, can we do the laundry at the Fisher House or will laundry equipment be provided for at the VA hospital? Answer 17: N/A Question 18: I was wondering if you could tell me why this requirement was not set-aside for a SDVOSB. Possibly this is an oversight? Answer 18: No responses were received on sources sought Question 19: Also, is there a site visit date? Answer 19: No Question 19a: If not, can we contact someone at the site to do a visit? Answer 19a: Yes, you may contact for visit.
