Description

Market Research for Mycobacterial Molecular Identification Instrument for the Orlando VA Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This does not constitute a solicitation. The information gathered from this request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only. The Government is not obligated, nor shall it pay for, any information received from potential sources as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. The purpose of this notice is to identify mandatory sources of supply as required by FAR 8.002 and small business entities capable of providing Mycobacterial Molecular Identification Instrument with reagents for the Orlando VA Medical Center as follows: The Orlando Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Lake Nona Campus, 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827 has a requirement for Mycobacterial Molecular Identification Instrument with reagents. A qualifying Mycobacterial Molecular Identification Instrument with reagents would need to meet the following salient characteristics: Salient Characteristics: "Rapid DNA probe test that utilizes nucleic acid hybridization for identification of mycobacteria isolated from culture. "Identification of mycobacterium isolates to a species level in less than 1 hour. "Uses a single-stranded DNA probe with a chemiluminescent label that is complementary to the ribosomal RNA of the target organism. "Chemiluminescent labeled DNA:RNA hybrids are measured in a luminometer that detects Relative Light Units (RLU) of stable DNA:RNA hybrids. "The luminometer shall have a cut-off value of 30,000 RLU with a lower limit of detection of 20,000 RLU. "Sensitivity range of 92 - 100% and specificity range of 99 - 100% for Mycobacterium species. "FDA-approved medical device that meets the performance characteristics for accuracy and precision as defined by the 1988 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act.
