This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This does not constitute a solicitation. The information gathered from this request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only. The Government is not obligated, nor shall it pay for, any information received from potential sources as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO-8) is currently conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing the following. North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is currently looking for contractors able to provide a Micro Dicectomy system. 1)Micro discectomy systems provide access to the spine with less tissue trauma than associated with traditional surgeries to relieve pressure on nerves. Posterior approach procedures with this system offer significant potential benefits. a. Shorter hospital stays - outpatient surgery vs. two to three days with open surgery b. Smaller scars - one inch vs. up to four inches c. Quicker return to work and normal activities d. Avoidance of general anesthetic e. Less post-operative pain - no muscle cutting or stripping 2)The function of the set must allow the surgeons to precisely locate, see and remove herniated discs in the spine through tunnels created by tubes that split back muscle rather that cutting it. This unique muscle-splitting approach allows surgeons to access the spine with a posterior approach without cutting or removing muscle from the spine. 3)The Medtronic set is Compatible with the facilities existing Jackson Spine table with adapters and accessories. The competitor must be able to match existing system or the facility will have to replace existing accessories and tables. 4)Capable of allowing microsurgical access to the cervical and lumbar spines with appropriately sized instruments 5) Able to accept external light source 6)Should be backward compatible with existing sets in hospital inventory to allow backfill from current inventory if a set or tray becomes contaminated or is not sterilized in a timely manner 7)The Set MUST also include: a.Angled, bayonetted instruments such as Kerrison Rongeurs, curettes, and forceps b.Bayonetted microsurgical instruments with a working length of at least 8cm c.Bayonetted curettes (straight, forward and back angled, multiple sizes each) d.Variable length micro suctions e.Nerve root retractors (straight and angled) f.Pituitary Rongeurs (straight, forward and backward angled) in micro, small, medium and large sizes g.A variety of tubes/dilators; angled and beveled Responses shall be sent via email, no later than 4:00 p.m. (EST) on June 9, 2015.
