- Request for Information for Laser Integration and Demonstration (LID) Support The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate (RD) Laser Integration and Demonstration (LID) Program is seeking industry's abilities to provide support services for ALL the requirements listed below: 1. Demonstrating, troubleshooting, and testing of developmental laser systems and beam control systems in a laboratory, emulated environment, or testing range. 2. Integration of laser systems, subsystems, components and technologies with supplemental technologies onto demonstration platforms. 3. Environmental emulation of military platform environment including but not limited to vibration, temperature, acoustics, electrical, thermal, pressure, humidity, atmospheric turbulence and optical effects. 4. Measuring, characterizing and evaluating the performance of laser systems, subsystems and components and the performance of pointing and tracking systems, subsystems and components. 5. Designing, developing, troubleshooting and integrating supplemental technologies such as electrical, thermal, and structural concepts to laser systems, subsystems and components. 6. Operate and modify existing LID tracking and beam director systems and support equipment to provide rapid field testing capabilities. In addition to the above, respondents should address their level of familiarity with test range coordination and relevant experience with engineering management processes of laser weapon systems.
