- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Nashville District intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Traveling Check Post Modifications at Nickajack Auxiliary Lock located in Marion County, Jasper Tennessee. The synopsis is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ) or proposals (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. RFQ number W912P5-15-T-0057 will be issued on or about June 2, 2015 but may be issued prior to or after June 2, 2015. The Scope of Work/Technical Specifications and Plans will be attached with the solicitation. Summary of Work: Work shall consist of removal of existing gearmotor, brake and traveling bit shackles. Contractor shall install new gearmotor, electromagnetic clutch and associated wiring as shown in contract drawings, wire rope and turnbuckles with adaptor plate as shown and described in the plans and specifications. Contractor shall modify existing machinery frame as necessary to install the new equipment in line with the drive sheave. Shall also provide the service of removing the jackshaft, replacing the g-couplings on the jackshaft and gear box shafts, and replacing the jackshaft after work is complete. Anticipated Period of Performance: Approximate completion of service will be within 60 days after receipt of an award. NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: 332710 - Machine Shop, with a size standard of 500. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: 100% Total Small Business. The quote closing due date and time will be detailed in the RFQ and any amendments that may be issued. IMPORTANT NOTE: The FedBizOpps response date listed elsewhere in this synopsis is for FedBizOpps archiving purposes only. It has no relationship to the actual solicitation due date and time. Conducting Business with the Government: In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the System for Award Management Registration (SAM). All Offerors must be SAM registered prior to receiving an award. Registration instructions may be obtained and online registration may be accomplished, at www.sam.gov. By submission of a quote, a vendor acknowledges the requirement to be registered in the SAM database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from the solicitation.
