Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Microsemi Inc. for twenty (20) replacement amplifiers for the NEXRAD Radar System for the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) located in Silver Spring, MD. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on May 12, 2015 and closed on May 19, 2015. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source The amplifiers being purchased are manufactured solely by Microsemi Inc. located in Camarillo, CA and is the only source of this part and based on the proprietary design by Microsemi Inc. during development of the NEXRAD Radar System.
