Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate and award a contract to procure Wallflex Biliary Stent Systems from the manufacturer, Boston Scientific Corporation, 1 Boston Scientific Place, Natick, MA 01760 for the VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plains Division. These specific metal Wallflex Biliary Stent Systems were developed based on Boston Scientific proprietary technology. The systems are needed for the palliative treatment of biliary strictures produced by malignant neoplasms and to relieve large bowel obstruction prior to colectomy in patients with malignant strictures. The solicitation will be released on a sole source basis to Boston Scientific, the manufacturer and only known supplier of these Wallflex Biliary Stents. The applicable NAICS code is 339112. The FSC/PSC is 6515. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation will be posted to this site. Interested persons may contact the Contracting Officer via email at Valerie.DeAngelis@va.gov regarding this procurement and may identify capabilities of this kind. Responses are due no later than five (5) days after this notice. Responses will not be considered after that date. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
