- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Code 55150 is seeking information on commercially-available Display, Keyboard/Trackball, KVM units. The Display, Keyboard/Trackball, KVM unit must be capable of the following: 1. General 1.1. The unit shall consist of a video display, keyboard/trackball, and KVM. 2. Mechanical 2.1. The unit shall be 19 rack mountable. 2.2. The unit height shall not exceed 1U (1.75). 2.3. The unit shall be equipped with slides for ease of transition between the operational and stowed positions. 2.4. The unit shall be capable of being secured in the stowed position by the operator without the use of tools. 2.5. The unit in the operational position with the display deployed vertically shall not be closer than 7.0 inches from the units RETMA rail mounting surface. See Figure 1 below.. Figure 1 Specification Illustration 3. Electrical 3.1. The KVM video interface connections shall be standard DVI-I connectors. 3.2. The unit must operate on Shipboard Type I Electrical Power System of 115 Volts Root Mean Square (VRMS), ungrounded single phase In Accordance With (IAW) MIL-STD-1399-300B. 3.3. The unit power connection shall use standard IEC C14 appliance inlet (Male) receptacle, per IEC 60320. 3.4. The unit shall provide a means for securing the power cable IEC C13 (Female) connector in place. 4. Keyboard/Trackball 4.1. The keyboard shall not have membrane type keys. 4.2. The keyboard shall provide tactile feedback to the operator as described in paragraph 5.1.3.2.6 of MIL-STD-1472G. 4.3. The keyboard keys shall provide a depression resistance of between 1.8 2.2 oz.as outlined in the preferred row of Table VII of MIL-STD-1472G. 4.4. The keyboard keys shall have a key displacement between the minimum of 0.05 and maximum of 0.25 as outlined in Table VII of MIL-STD-1472G. 4.5. The keyboard shall have a United States (US) English QWERTY key configuration. 4.6. The keyboard shall have at minimum the following keys: Lock keys: Caps Lock and indicator Navigation keys: Up, Down, Right, and Left Arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, Esc Modifier keys: Control, Shift, Alt Editing keys: Enter/Return, Backspace, Insert, Delete, Tab, Space bar Contextual keys: Function keys (F1-F10), Print screen/System request, Break/Pause 4.7. The keyboard shall not have a numeric pad. 4.8. The trackball ball size shall be at minimum 1 3/8 (1.375) in diameter. 4.9. The trackball shall be located on the right-hand side of the keyboard. 4.10. The trackball shall have three (3) selection buttons located above the trackball. 5. Display 5.1. The unit display size shall be 20 or greater (Objective). 5.2. The unit display shall have a native resolution and aspect ratio IAW a row of the following table. The unit display shall automatically turn off or be placed in a reduced power state when positioned in the stowed position. 5.4. The unit display shall automatically turn on or recover from the reduced power state when moved from the stowed to operational position. 6. KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse) 6.1. The KVM shall be capable of switching the Digital Video Interface Integrated (DVI-I) video and all integrated operator interface devices plus one additional externally connected Universal Serial Bus (USB) device (Objective) to any of the four (4) system computers. 6.2. The KVM shall be switchable using keyboard hot keys. 6.3. The KVM hot key switching function must use and be tested with drivers included in both the standard version 6 and 7 Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distribution. 7. Environmental 7.1. The unit shall be designed to pass system level MIL-STD-810G: Method 528 Shipboard Vibration testing when integrated into a hard mounted 19 rack and in the stowed position. 7.2. The unit shall be designed to pass system level MIL-S-901D: Grade B, Class I, Type A heavyweight machine testing when integrated into a hard mounted 19 rack and in the stowed position. 7.3. The unit shall be designed to pass system level Ships Motion/Attitude - MIL-STD-2036A, inclination testing per the requirements of Appendix D when integrated into a hard mounted 19 rack and in the stowed position. 7.4. The unit shall be designed to pass EMC/EMI testing according to the procedures of MIL-STD-461F and DoD-STD-1399 when integrated into a hard mounted 19 rack and in the stowed position. The front and back of the rack will be open. The applicable tests are listed in the table below. Test CE101, Conducted Emissions, Power Leads, 30 Hz to 10 kHz CE102, Conducted Emissions, Power Leads, 10 kHz to 10 MHz CS101, Conducted Susceptibility, Power Leads, 30 Hz to 150 kHz CS106, Conducted Susceptibility, Transients, Power Leads CS114, Conducted Susceptibility, Bulk Cable Injection, 10 kHz to 200 MHz CS116, Conducted Susceptibility, Damped Sinusoidal Transients, 10 kHz to 100 MHz RE101, Radiated Emissions, Magnetic Field, 30 Hz to 100 kHz RE102, Radiated Emissions, Electric Field, 10 kHz to 18 GHz RS101, Radiated Susceptibility, Magnetic Field, 30 Hz to 100 kHz RS103, Radiated Susceptibility, Electric Field, 2 MHz to 18 GHz DC Magnetic Field Bonding 7.5. The unit shall have a rated operating temperature range greater than or equal to 0 to 50 C IAW MIL-HDBK-2036: Table XII 7.6. The unit shall have a rated storage temperature range greater than or equal to -20 to 60 C. 8. Maintenance 8.1. The unit shall have a three (3) year technical support contract. 9. Requested Information 9.1. The following is a list of additional information/documentation requested from the manufacturer. 1. Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) statistics. 2. Life cycle support statistics/roadmap. 3. Relative humidity specifications. Review of this information is being performed by SSC-LANT Code 55150, which aims to conduct objective comparative assessments and validations of commercially available Display, Keyboard/Trackball, KVM units to determine if the solution meets the Governments requirements. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in SSC-LANT documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, URL, revenue, and number of employees. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address. 4. Product name and a description of features. 5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration (GSA) schedule information. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SSC-LANT projects. If an SSC-LANT project requiring this type of equipment is executed, the equipment selection will be based upon a number of factors, including responder surveys and focus group inputs. Consequently, follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through Federal Business Opportunities posting agency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Submittals Respondents are required to submit complete product information that demonstrates the specifications identified above.
