Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) located in Bethesda, MD has a requirement for a Portable Induction Heating System. The minimum specifications are as follows: The vendor shall provide an Induction Heating System including induction coils, all necessary supporting equipment (e.g., chiller, temperature controller, etc.), operation manual(s) and training for the system. The induction system must be capable of automatically maintaining a desired temperature ±5°C within the range of 220°C - 300°C for at least 15 minutes in 0.25 inches to 0.375 inches thick 5XXX Al. The induction coil's spot size must be at least 36 square inches. The system must be capable of a 100% duty cycle at 100% output power. The system must be capable of monitoring, recording, and automatically maintaining the desired temperature of the material. Heating sequences or ramps must be able to be programmed into the unit and induction power supply parameters able to be monitored and recorded. The system must be portable. It must be able to fit through a standard doorway (32 inches by 80 inches) maneuvered by one person. When used in the flat position, the induction coil must be supported such that it can be operated without personnel handling during the heating operation. The induction coil must be able to be moved smoothly along the plate during the heating operation. The North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333994 with a size standard of 500 employees. Additional specifications and information will be appear in the RFQ N00167-15-T-0047. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business. The acquisition of this commercial item(s) will be processed in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The solicitation will be posted within 15 days of this announcement. All questions concerning the ensuing solicitation must be directed via email to Egbert.Goodman@Navy.mil In order to be considered for award, offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Information on SAM registration and annual confirmation requirement can be obtained via Internet at http://www.sam.gov or by calling the Service Desk at 866-606-8220. Quotes received from offerors not registered in the SAM may not be considered. The Government intends to award a single Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order to the offeror representing the best value to the Government based on the evaluation factors listed in the RFQ. The Government reserves the right to utilize technical, i.e., trade magazines and customer reviews/references as part of the technical evaluation.
